Unsuccesful roebuck hunting
As with all hunting, preperation and local knowlegde are the keys to success. Roebuck hunting in Norway can be quite challenging. With unforgiving winters and less culture landscape available, most regions do not have the ideal biotope for roedeer. Add to that the presence of Lynx in these areas. Whilst Germany and Norway are about equal in size, 1 million roedeer are shot in Germany every year versus 30.000 in Norway. On the upside though: the trophies in Norway are enormous. Slaughter weights vary from 17 to 21 kilo’s, which is a...

Earlier this year we wrote we hade made an agreement with Meopta to test their hunting optics. Just in short our conclusion on the Meostar B1 Binoculars: Leave your spotting scope at home, bring Meopta binoculars instead! Here I want to mention that I never went into any other country bringing a firearm, with that little problems. I had to fill in a form and show my weapons permit, which in total took less than 5...

Januari 8, 2010. Its 09.30, there is no wind, ths sun shines and the thermometer shows its -11 degrees celcius. A perfect day for seal hunting. Coming down to the harbour my hunting friend Robert has already arrived and is freeing the boat of snow. Nothing reminds me of the normal winters on the Norwegian West coast, which are characterized by wind, rain and temperatures ranging from -5 to +10, not making it comfortable to hunt seal. After some trouble getting the 10 hp engine on our 12 feet steady going we are leaving harbour around...
